Why We Fundraise

Hear from Hal, parent of one of last year’s top fundraisers:

  • Community & Joy: Let your network know how much the community means to your kids. Let the joy be contagious!
  • Capital Improvements: Donations directly fund better equipment, field improvements, extra coaching, and hopefully future projects like upgraded batting cages.

Fundraising Strategy

Hear from Joe, parent of one of last year’s top fundraisers:

  • Fueling Our Season: This is our single biggest fundraiser and provides the essential support we need to run a successful club.
  • Network First: Lean into your efforts by reaching out to as many family members, friends, and co-workers as possible.
  • Hit the Streets: If all else fails, take to the streets and knock on doors in your neighborhood!

Trout Lake Little League Hit-A-Thon Guide

What is the Hit-A-Thon?

  • Players secure donations from their networks and, in return, receive turns at bat following picture day on May 4th, 2026.
  • Each player receives a baseline of 3 hits off a tee. Additional hits are awarded for every $20 raised (subject to a bell-curved time cap).

Why Fundraise?

  • League Operations: These funds provide the essential support we need to run a successful club and ensure a great season for all our athletes.
  • Capital Improvements: Donations directly fund better equipment, field improvements, extra coaching, and future projects like upgraded batting cages.
  • Community Support: 20% of net funds raised are donated directly to KidSport BC, Covenant House Vancouver, and the Vancouver Canadians Foundation.

Fundraising Strategy

  • Network First: Direct requests to family members, friends, and co-workers yield the highest return.
  • Community Outreach: If personal networks are exhausted, door-to-door requests within the local neighborhood are highly effective.
